Making More Mindful Food Choices
Now that we have started to add different foods and remove others, it’s a good time to be mindful and really start paying attention to how we feel when these changes are made.
Some questions to ask yourself:
Do I feel better when I eat less wheat?
Do I feel better when I eat more raw vegetables?
Do have more energy when I don’t eat sugar, especially with breakfast?
Did I sleep better when I had dinner at a reasonable hour instead of eating after 8 or 9pm?
Does drinking a large glass of water first thing in the morning help me to get going?
Think about how you feel and then recall what you ate just hours earlier or even the day before. Keep a journal. Tracking your food vs how you feel. Do this for a week or two. I promise you, a pattern will start to emerge and the picture will become clear. The dots will connect and you will be able to see and know what foods are your friends and which are your foes. You will find you begin to build a list of friendly foods to help you make choices. As you build this list of friendly foods you will feel better, more energetic and with far less effort or guesswork and slowly, over time you will be healthier, stronger, and more vibrant.
